Jessica Doyle  |  Co-President

4th year, Marketing major

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?   “Gender equality in sports.”

What is your go-to spot on campus?  “My go to spot to eat around campus is definitely Parma café, the sandwiches and pizzas there are insane. The only place I can actually study is in the Concordia library. I always try to snatch those big comfy couches whenever possible.”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “I don’t feel guilty about it at all but I am obsessed with all things related to the bachelor franchise.”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about? “The Special Olympics” 

In what way are you a nerd? “I LOVE to read, like I read 15 books this summer”

What’s your guilty pleasure? “Reading romantic comedies, binging reality TV, listening to the same song over and over until I hate it, and keeping up on celebrity gossip”

Salma Soufi  |  VP Involvement

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Justice for survivors of violence.”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “Listening to music on repeat”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “Experiencing student life at its fullest. I can’t wait to see people in person again, attend events, and socialize!”

Julie Sim  |  VP External

3rd year, Finance major

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Destigmatizing mental health.”

What is your go-to spot on campus?  “There’s a park on the corner of Rene Levesque and Saint-Marc that overlooks the highway and the Southwest area and is about 5-10 minutes away from campus that I love going to. On the way there, there’s a little Korean grocery store on Sainte-Catherine where I’ll usually pick up some kimbap or onigiri to snack on after class!”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “Reality tv and snacking on anything crunchy and salty – A must after a long day”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Men’s mental health.”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “Genghis Khan because my name practically sounds and spells like it OR LinkedIn supervillain because I call our people that are late to update their LinkedIn”

What is your go-to spot on campus?  Walk in any coffee shops around SGW at any time, you have a 90% chance of finding me there

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation”

In what way are you a nerd?  “I can never put a book down!”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “I’m looking forward to spending Thursday nights at Reggies with my friends!”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “The Canadian Cancer Society”

In what way are you a nerd?  “I love doing puzzles. I get so into it, I could finish a 1000-piece puzzle in a couple of days!”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “I’m really looking forwarded to planning CASA Cares events with the team. I’m especially excited for the Fashion Show! It’s going to be a lot of fun to plan.”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Homelessness in Montreal! I feel like we see it so much everyday that those people become invisible to us. There are so many stereotypes surrounding poverty and most of them are not true.”

In what way are you a nerd?  “I’m a big marvel fan. I love all the hidden details and references in every movies!”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “Nanaimo bars. I could eat an entire plate all by myself :)”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Supporting health care workers”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “Finally being able to study in the library with a Starbucks coffee. P.S the line is always shorter at the Starbucks under the library.”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “Anything with chocolate in it, I can’t go a day without some form of chocolate.”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “The Wet’suwet’en pipeline protests.”

In what way are you a nerd?  “I have seen every Marvel and Harry Potter movie at least 3 times”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “People love to call me Zo. I don’t know why you would feel the need to shorten a 3 letter name but here we are.”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Black Lives Matter”

What’s one word that others would describe you as and why?  “Charismatic cause I talk to everyone and I make it my mission to get as many people as possible to like me”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “I’m most looking forward to this year’s Movember initiative! Looking forward to seeing everyone’s amazing moustaches”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Climate change, global poverty, LGBTQIA+ and Women’s rights”

What’s one word that others would describe you as and why?  “Dehydrated: Because I always forget to drink water”

What is your go-to spot on campus?  “My favorite spot on campus are the sofas on the 2nd floor. Perfect for my daily naps!

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “The Canadian Cancer Society”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “Nickname is Lau – short for Laura. My friends have been calling me this since high school, and it stuck. My closest friends and family call me this now.”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “Going to Homesense and manifesting what my future home will look like, and all the decorations and kitchen tools I will buy to spice it up!”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Desta Black Youth Network”

What is your go-to spot on campus?  “The 7th floor of the hall building because you’re basically guaranteed a spot and its great for meeting friends or doing some work alone.

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “I’m looking forward to getting to meet other students at in person events again! We had some great online events this year but there’s nothing like talking face to face”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Wider accessibility to Mental Health Support, and the SPCA”

In what way are you a nerd?  “When I like something, I go all-in. That’s how I’ve accumulated so many hobbies/interests: psychology, reading anything I get my hands on, archery, bass guitar, dance, history. My favorite thing to do is talk to passionate people about their passions”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “Only my boss, my clients and my profs call me by my real first name haha. Friends call me Nicky, Nic, Nicolai, Nics, and any other variation you can think of”

In what way are you a nerd?  “I like trying new restaurants/ places to eat!! Follow @tha.nn on IG if you do too 😙”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “Mom of the group?! Because I always have everything in my bag 🤧”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?  “Hosting in-person events and returning back to normal JMSB life!”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “Clem – my mom was going to name me Clementine so my friends make fun of me…. ”

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “Protecting the environment and keeping our planet safe!”

What is a nickname of yours and the story behind it?  “Others often describe me as the “mom” since I’m always taking care of people.”

What is your go-to spot on campus?  “One of my favorite spots to study is in the Grey Nuns building.

Claire Gagnon-Santos |  First-Year Representative

1st year, double major in Finance and Supply Chain Operations Management

What cause is closest to your heart, that you think more people should know about?  “The Rebecca MacDonald Center for Arthritis and Autoimmune Disease”

In what way are you a nerd?  “Once a topic interests me, I read as much as I can about it and listen to multiple podcasts and documentaries until I am satisfied; then, I proceed to another subject and repeat!”

What’s your guilty pleasure?  “Getting up at 4 am. People think I’m insane, but there’s a special sense of endless possibilities at 4 am worth getting up for; the feeling is better than coffee.”
