Food Drive 2021
From October 4th to October 9th 2021, we hosted our very own food drive in the JMSB lobby and in partnership with various grocery stores across the city to help fight food insecurity in Montreal.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED
During the week before Thanksgiving, the Concordia community and residents of Montreal came together to combat food insecurity. Non-perishable food and hygiene products were collected at JMSB, IGA Toppetta Dorval, IGA Extra Beck, and Metro Anjou during that week amassing to a grand total of 936 lbs of donations. These were then split (based on individual shortage) between our four participating Food Banks in Montreal for maximum reach: Moisson Montreal, West Island Mission de L'Ouest de L'Ile, BADR Communautaire, and Hope Food Bank. We are so proud of our community for their continuing generosity and for exceeding our expectations!

Special Thanks
Beyond our incredibly generous donors this year, and the volunteers from the executive team, we want to thank these organizations for their support and involvement in our project.
Food Banks
Thank you again to Moisson Montreal, WIMMOI, BADR, and Hope Food Bank for helping make this project a reality. They take donations and volunteers all year round!
Grocery Stores
We set up a booth outside of these grocery stores to collect donations from incoming and outgoing clients - widening our reach to the rest of Montreal. Thank you IGA Toppetta Dorval, IGA Extra Beck, and Metro Anjou!
Sponsors
Our main source of support came from our sponsors Mid-Day Squares and The Gourmet Coffee Centre. They allowed us the funds and incentives needed to get as much interaction as possible, and raise as many donations as we did.
