THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS

On March 13th 2021, a thousand residents of Greater Montreal participated in a miracle to help combat food insecurity. Among them were nearly 100 Concordia students, many of whom were captains, who helped pick up shopping bags and boxes of food from thousands doorways, porches, lobbies, steps and driveways. We are so proud to bring these individuals together to give back to our community.

How were people involved?

Participating in the Miracle was a collaborative effort - from our volunteers to the donors, we want to give a sincere thank you to everyone who came together to make this happen.

Team Captain
Captains were assigned a team of 5-10 individuals in their area to lead the collection efforts. They were the eyes and ears on the grounds on March 13th, and acted as a point of contact in their regions.
General Volunteer
General volunteers reported to their team captain and canvass the neighborhood collecting donations left on doorsteps. They brought the food to the foodbanks and had the chance to see the organizations we are supporting.
Donor
Critical to our operations were our donors! Donors left as little as a single can on their doorstep and were part of the largest community initiative Montreal has ever seen.
